Three Cubs fans get Houston’s goat

// September 23rd, 2003 // No Comments » // Uncategorized

Yesterday, before Houston’s pivotal game vs. the Giants, three Cubs fans journeyed to Houston’s Minute Maid Park with a goat, hoping to reverse the curse. The Giants struck for two home runs in the 9th against their ace, Billy Wagner and came away with the victory. Coincidence?

Man, what a roller-coaster. The Cubs finish the weekend a half-game out of first, but left us wanting for more. Meanwhile, on the south side: You can put it on the booaaardd! They’re gone.

Man, I hope they make the playoffs. This is the first year I’ve gotten tickets to a playoff game and I didn’t have to donate a kidney to get them. So for the next few days I become a Cubs and Giants fan.

Go Barry!

CONGRATULATIONS RONNIE!

There is no man more deserving the honor of having his number retired than Cubs great Ron Santo; if only for his sacrifices and dedication to the fight against juvenile Diabetes alone. Welcome to immortality Ron. Suddenly Cooperstown doesn’t seem so important.

So long to the Man in Black

The man in black died today from complications of Diabetes, a disease that hits very close to home for me. Almost three years ago, my father passed away due to complications from this disease. I can relate to what the Cash familiy is going through and offer my deepest condonlences.

In memory of Mr. Cash, I’d like to encourage everyone in the Chicago area to take part in the either the Walk for Diabetes on Sept 21st or Ron Santo’s Walk to Cure Diabetes, taking place in multiple locations throughout the Chicago area on October 5th. Only through research, can we finally defeat this horrible plague that threatens the lives of millions.

I also want to my offer condolences to the family of John Ritter, a man who entertained a generation and died much to young. Rest in Peace.
