Unfortunately, you’ll still be too late to enter the Droidyard 500, which happened last weekend at the Star Wars Celebration III.

Us time

In early anticipation of the six month anniversary of the coming together of Meg and I (also known our dating relationship), the both of us sequestered ourselves this weekend in an undisclosed location; much like Dick Cheney.

Our anniversary actually falls on the 30th, which also happens to be the 31st anniversary of the birth of the Monkey Boy also known as Dan. Too many anniversaries in to little a span of time.

The weekend gave us an opportunity to accomplish two important things:

  1. Separate ourselves from the real world
  2. Get in a whole lot of quality ‘us’ time

The past few weeks have been very hectic for me at work, with the finishing of yet another system test and the subsequent pressure of producing a set of gold masters to send to the publisher. Long hours, weekend hours and much grief was to be had. I was frazzled, frustrated and really in need of a vacation.

Meg, on the other hand, was experiencing my frustration through osmosis. There were even a few nights last week where she came in to my work and stayed with me during the madness, just so I wouldn’t wig out; a very selfless and very appreciated act.

So after about 30 CDs (no lie – we’re scheduling a skeet shoot on the roof later in the week), we finally produced the FINAL CDs on Friday and sent them off and I was finally ready to separate myself from the world.

So Saturday after my photography class, Meg and I packed our bags and headed out for parts known only to us and locked ourselves away from the rest of the world. It was just what the doctor ordered.

We spent 36 hours in no-one’s company but our own and it felt as if the world had completely stopped. This is what it’s like when you’re in the company of the one you know you’re going to spend the rest of your life with and it’s a feeling I wouldn’t trade for anything. Thanks honey for a wonderful weekend and for coming into my life. I really don’t know what I’d do without you.

I love you so much, Meg!

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to work on yet more CDs. This time, without the apathy. ;-)

The Jedi turned against me…

I was approaching the final installment of the Star Wars saga with a bit of trepidation, mostly beacuse of my less-than-stellar reception to the first two prequel movies.

Granted, I have come to accept them as the backstory for the fall of Anakan Skywalker, I’ve just never considered them to be on-par with the original trilogy. With Revenge of the Sith, this may very well change.

The latest TV trailer“Tragedy” shows the effects of Anakin’s downfall and the repurcussions on those closest to him. To me, it’s the best one thus far and the one that made me look forward to the movie. Now where’s that countdown board of Eric’s?
